MEETING MINUTES
Minutes from the meeting
of November 2, 2005 were read. Lee
Bassett moved to approve; Bob Borg seconded.
All present voted to approve minutes on a voice vote.
APPLICATIONS
05-02 Gordon - 5547 Oak Grove Drive - Planner Hogue stated there had again been no
contact or information submitted from Mr. Gordon as requested by the CSCC last
summer. Mr. Hogue suggested that a letter be sent to Mr. Gordon establishing a
deadline the next meeting date (January 2006) for submittal of the requested
information. Should the information not be supplied the CSCC will dismiss/deny
the petition as being incomplete. The
consensus of the CSCC was to proceed in this manner.
05-20 Plummer –
6848 Ellis Avenue,
Eleanora Estates - Petitioners Adam
and Elizabeth Plummer were present requesting a sprinkler system/sprinkler
heads be allowed to remain in a scenic corridor. Mr. Borg indicated he had been to the site.
Petitioners indicated the area in the Scenic Corridor had been tilled and was
devoid of vegetation. They wanted the sprinkler system to water the area as it
is some 300 + feet from the house. The CSCC members noted the preference for
natural species being established in the corridor (grass is specifically
prohibited although non-native species may be introduced). The noted if properly established native
species would not need constant watering. Therefore they saw no need for
sprinkler heads to be located in the scenic corridor. Motion by to deny
application 05-20 made by Bob Borg, Seconded by Lee Bassett. On a voice vote;
all aye.
OTHER BUSINESS
Approval of Meeting Dates
& Assignments - CSCC members reviewed amended the CSCC 2006
meeting schedule to add a second meeting March (3/15). On a voice vote; all aye.
1 Wildlife Way - Chairman Smith indicated he had been
contacted by Mr. Paul Blome concerning the aforementioned property and the
removal of dead trees. The CSCC
considered this activity to be routine maintenance and would not require a CSCC
application but a permit for tree removal is required. Chair Smith will contact
Mr. Blome and inform him of this decision. The CSCC is willing to offer
guidance and technical assistance in this effort.
Sprinkler System
Prohibition - Lee Bassett presented language he had drafted
concerning prohibiting sprinkler systems in the Village in an effort to
preserve groundwater supplies. Mr. Hogue indicated that the Village did not
have the authority to regulate groundwater consumption. He would research the
issues further and report back to the CSCC in January.
ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING
Warren Schmitt moved to
adjourn. Seconded by Kelley Smith. On a voice vote; All aye. Meeting adjourned
