THE PLAN COMMISSION MEETING SHALL BE HELD AT THE COUNTRY MEADOWS SCHOOL AT GILMER AND N. KRUEGER ROAD IN LONG GROVE, ILLINOIS.
I. MEETING GAVELED TO ORDER.
II. MINUTES OF SEPTMBER 4, 2001.
III. OLD BUSINESS.
A. Housing Design Standards.
The Village
Planner has submitted a set of possible standards to insure that quality and
individual housing designs continue to be appropriately provided to future Long
Grove residents.
B. Bulk Housing Regulation.
The Village
Planner has submitted regulations that have to do with the size of residential
houses relative to the size of the lot. Consideration of the existing standards
and their impact is under discussion.
C. Undeveloped Land Map.
Staff has prepared a map indicating the remaining properties in the Village that could be developed or protected as open space and park land. The Plan Commission requested a set of standards and assignments for each parcel to be evaluated by Commissioners, which has also been provided.
D.
Long Grove Station Sub-Area Plan.
The Long
Grove Comprehensive Plan includes an area of approximately 300 acres north of
the E.J. & E. Railroad and south of Midlothan Road for a land use plan,
which includes a future commuter station. Clarification on the conditions for
the implementation of the plan is requested.
E. Lake Cook Road and Route 53
Sub-Area Plan.
The Long
Grove Comprehensive Plan includes an area north of Lake Cook Road along both
sides of Route 53 for a sub-area plan detailing a combination of land and use
plans. The request is to revise this sub-area plan and consider whether
conditions have changed to require an amendment of the sub-area.
F. Development Evaluation.
A form has
been drafted for review as to how the Village officials might evaluate the
development approval process and improvements that implement the plan to better
determine those aspects of development that best preserve the goals established
by Long Grove.
IV. NEW BUSINESS.
A.
Park District Buffalo Creek Park Special Use
Amendment.
The Long
Grove Park District has requested amendments to the special use granted to
allow activities within the Buffalo Creek Park that need supervision and could
involve a speaker system.
B.
Comprehensive Plan Amendment Consideration Concerning
Septic vs. Sanitary Sewer Systems.
The Village Board has requested that the Plan Commission review the existing
language within the Comprehensive Plan to judge whether it is consistent with
the present preferred practices of the Village.

Review the way and how the Village Planner can provide
guidance to the Plan Commission when considering specific applications and
general planning policy.
