PLAN COMMISSION

1.
Call to Order.
2. Approval of the August 6, 2002 & the September 3, 2002 Meeting Minutes.
3. Public Hearing for Consideration of a Request for a Special Use Permit for
Storage Building – Hillcrest Country Club – The petitioners are seeking approval to
construct a 1,800 sq. ft. (30’x60’), 12’ tall, storage building located
immediately west of the existing maintenance building located toward the
western property line. This matter was
first before the Plan Commission on September 3, 2002. The petitioners were directed to amend their
application to ensure that the proposed building conformed with all required
setbacks.
4. Continued Public Hearing for Special Use for Montessori School – The petitioners are seeking a Special Use Permit to locate a private
middle school in the R-1 District at 1118 Robert Parker Coffin Road. This matter was first before the Plan Commission
on February 5, 2002. The petitioners
amended their petition for review during the July2, 2002 meeting and are
requesting further review. The Plan
Commission recommended concept approval to the Board of Trustees during the
September 3, 2002 meeting. During the
September 10, 2002 meeting, the Board of Trustees referred this matter back to
the Plan Commission for further review.
6. Continued Bulk Regulations Review – Amendment
of Title 5, Chapter 15, of the Long Grove Village Code is proposed. The current regulations focus on floor area
as a control to limit bulk. The
proposed revisions use volumetric measurements as a means to limit bulk. A Public Hearing on this matter was held on
July 2, 2002. A draft ordinance is
being prepared for review and recommendation.
7. Continued Driveway Plans and Specifications Review. The Village
Board requested that the Plan Commission review Section 7-1-1-5 of the Village
Code to determine if any revision or clarification of the language is needed,
especially with respect to the width of the driveway at the point where it
meets the road.
8. Lake Cook Road and Route 53 Sub-Area Plan. The
Long Grove Comprehensive Plan includes an area along both sides of Route 53 for
a sub-area plan detailing a combination of land and use plans. The request is to revised this sub-area plan
and consider whether conditions have changed to require an amendment of the
sub-area. (Each Plan Commission member is requested to develop a list of
acceptable/non-acceptable uses that could be developed in compliance with all
applicable Village of Long Grove standards.)
