September 7, 2004 Meeting Minutes

                                                                                                                                             

 

 

Commissioners Present: Ed Acuna, Joe Di Iorio, Nicholas Fasano, Camy Gould, Robert Jenkins, Lisa Phillips and Karen Schultheis.  Michael Dvorak arrived at 8:30pm.

 

Chairman Present:  Fred Phillips.

 

Commissioners Absent:  None.

 

Also Present: Village Planner Edmond Cage.

 

1.                  Call to Order.

Chairman Fred Phillips called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm.

 

2.         Approval of August 3, 2004 Minutes.

Commissioner Gould motioned to approve the August 3, 2004 meeting minutes without any changes, seconded by Commissioner Schultheis.  Ayes all, no nays.  Motion carried.

 

3.          Affordable Housing Planning and Appeal Act.

Information was distributed to the Plan Commission in preparation for the public hearing which is to be held at the next Plan Commission meeting on October 5, 2004.

 

4.         Plan Commission Sub-Committee Action Items.

Commissioner Acuna introduced the ideas of forming sub-committees.  This would ideally make the Plan Commission more effective in dealing with some of the outstanding planning related subjects that need to be reviewed further.  There was some discussion on the process for the proposed sub-committees.  The sub-committee subjects were then listed and Plan Commission members and Village Staff were designated to the sub-committee subjects as listed below:

 

  • Bulk Regulations:  Joe Di Iorio & Ed Acuna.

 

  • Lot Coverage:  Ed Cage.

 

  • Landscaping Regulations:  Camy Gould & Lisa Phillips.

 

  • Special Uses:  Lisa Phillips & Camy Gould.

 

  • Aquifer/Water/Septic:  Mike Dvorak & Karen Schultheis.

 

  • Unbuildable Land:  Bob Jenkins & Nick Fasano.

 

  • Comprehensive Plan:  Village Staff.

 

  • Review Existing PUDs:  Joe Di Iorio & Ed Cage.

 

Village Planner Cage was to research which of these items has been referred to the Plan Commission from the Village Board and which had not.  This information would then be presented to the Village Board for their review and potential referral.

 

5.         Other Business

There was no other business discussed.

 

6.         Adjournment:  Next Regular Meeting, Tuesday, October 5, 2004, 8:00 pm 

Motion to adjourn by Commissioner Fasano, seconded by Commissioner Lisa Phillips.  Ayes, all.  Nays, none, Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 9:37 p.m.
