AN ORDINANCE COMPREHENSIVELY AMENDING TITLE
5
(ZONING
REGULATIONS) AND VARIOUS OTHER
PROVISIONS
OF THE LONG GROVE VILLAGE CODE
WHEREAS, on December 13, 2005, the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Long Grove referred to the Long Grove Plan
Commission for discussion and consideration comprehensive amendments to the
Long Grove zoning regulations contained in Title 5 of the Long Grove Village
Code ("Zoning Code"); and
WHEREAS,
on
January 17, 2006, the Plan Commission commenced
public workshop meetings to discuss and consider comprehensive amendments to
the Zoning Code, which discussions were continued from time-to-time and
concluded on December 5, 2006; and
WHEREAS,
at the December 5, 2006, public meeting, the Plan Commission directed that
staff provide notice for and schedule a public hearing on the proposed
comprehensive amendments to the Zoning Code for January 16, 2007; and
WHEREAS,
pursuant to notice duly published, on January 16, 2007, the Plan Commission
commenced public hearings to discuss and consider the comprehensive amendments
to the Zoning Code, which hearings were continued to February 6, 2007 and
February 20, 2007; and
WHEREAS,
at the February 20, 2007 public hearing, the Plan Commission voted to recommend
approval of the comprehensive amendments to the Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS,
the President and Board of Trustees have determined that the comprehensive amendments
to the Zoning Code, as set forth in this Ordinance, are in the best interests
of the Village and its residents; and
WHEREAS,
in addition, the President and Board of Trustees have determined that as a
result of the approval of the comprehensive amendments to the Zoning Code, certain
other amendments to the Village Code are necessary, as set forth in this
Ordinance; and
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED
by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Long Grove,
SECTION
SECTION TWO. Relocation of Tree Preservation Regulations. Chapter 16, entitled "Tree Preservation," of Title
5, entitled "Zoning Regulations," of the Long Grove Village Code
shall be and is hereby relocated to a new Chapter 10, entitled "Tree
Preservation," in Title 4, entitled "Building Regulations" of
the Long Grove Village Code. References
to the various provisions within the Tree Preservation regulations shall be
renumbered to be consistent with the new Chapter designation.
SECTION THREE. Relocation of Conservancy District Regulations. Chapter 10, entitled "Conservancy Districts," of
Title 5, entitled "Zoning Regulations," of the Long Grove Village
Code shall be and is hereby incorporated into the existing conservancy district
regulations contained in Chapter 5, entitled "Easements and Protected
Areas," of Title 7 of the Long Grove Village Code, which new Chapter 5
shall be titled "Conservancy Districts, Easements, and Protected
Areas" and hereafter
be and read as set forth in Exhibit A
to this Ordinance.
SECTION FOUR. Comprehensive
Amendment to Title 5. Title 5, entitled "Zoning
Regulations," of the Long Grove Village Code shall be and is hereby deleted
in its entirety and replaced with a new Title 5, entitled "Zoning
Regulations," which new Title 5 shall hereafter be and read as set forth
in Exhibit B to this Ordinance.
SECTION FIVE. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect after its passage, approval, and publication in
pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
